Bharwa Bhindi/Stuffed Okra

Food has the power to uplift your mood in any situation. Our daily food when cooked in a little different way with lots of love is very much capable of making everyone’s mood. So here comes a little out of the stream dish with Bhindi/Okra.

Bhindi is such a versatile vegetable, I make so many recipes with it. This Stuffed Bhindi recipe is very inviting and it can be made very easily In the morning for lunch box and everyone in the family is going to love it for sure. Let’s begin:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg Bhindi/okra
  • 1 tbsp Gram Flour
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried mango powder
  • 1 tbsp roasted Fennel seeds powder
  • Oil – 1 tsp for masala Preparation and 1 tbsp for final preparation

Process:

  • First of all wash and then dry the bhindi very well using kitchen towel, there should not be any moisture on bhindi
  • Remove crown and tail part from each bhindi and make a vertical slit in each of them, keep aside
  • In a thick bottom small pan heat 1 tsp oil, add cumin seeds and asafoetida let them crackle
  • Now add gram flour and roast it properly, it will take a minute or two, roast it till the gram flour starts giving a nutty flavor
  • Now add all the spices and mix well, stir for a minute
  • Now take it off the heat and let it cool a bit
  • Fill this masala in each bhindi slit
  • Now take another pan, heat oil and put all the bhindis in it and cook
  • Stir occasionally with a light hand, it will be ready in just 10 minutes.
