Garlic & Cheese Round Bread with 100% Whole Wheat Flour

Bread Baking is so so addictive that once you start baking your breads you are tempted to make them all at home. Here I am with my latest passion ‘Baking Breads’. These days I am trying new style breads and that too in our very own Whole Wheat Flour(WWF) to keep the health quotient up.

Weekends are meant for special cooking and indulging. Yesterday evening was one such evening when I baked back to back three different style of breads 😍😍

This one is infused with Garlic and Coriander butter and has some cheese inside. Here is the recipe which is not very cumbersome, believe me😊

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp butter(soft at room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Little less than 1 tbsp instant yeast(or 1 tbsp active Dry yeast)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 2 tbsp oil

Process:

  • First of all we need to make the bread dough, for that take the flour in a big mixing bowl and add yeast, sugar and salt to it and mix properly(if you are using Active Dry yeast, first activate the yeast in warm water with some sugar)IMG20170325183553
  • Add the 1 tbsp butter to warm milk so it meltsIMG20170325183557
  • Now add the butter and milk mixture to flour and start kneadingIMG20170325184113
  • Add water to adjust the dough. It will be a smooth soft dough. Knead it for 5-7 minutes to develop gluten
  • Now add 1 tbsp oil to the dough and knead again for 2 minutes, the dough will become even more smoothIMG20170325184649
  • It’s the time for dough to rest in a deep greased vessel for first proofing. Rest it for 1 hour or till the dough is doubled
  • In the mean time take 1/4 cup soft butter and add garlic paste and Coriander to it and mix well, keep aside
  • When the dough is doubled, knock out the air from the dough with your fingers and take it on a flour dusted surface and roll into a rectangular shape, 1/4 inch in thickness
  • Apply garlic and Coriander butter on the dough rectangle generously, reserve some butter for later useIMG20170325195301
  • Spread grated cheese on the whole rectangle(I had some mozzarella and processed cheese slices in pantry so used them only) and sprinkle some salt and pepperIMG20170325195701
  • Now roll the dough like a Swiss roll and join both the ends together to make a circle
  • Now make some equidistant cuts in the dough circleIMG20170325195919
  • Gently lift the bread dough circle and put it on greased quarter plate(or pie pan, I have used a steel quarter plate)
  • Brush it with the reserved butter and keep to rest again for 15 minutesIMG_20170325_205513
  • Turn on your  oven at 200 degrees for preheating
  • Now bake the bread at 200 degrees for 18-22 minutes on middle rack till you see the golden crust
  • Brush some more butter after taking out from ovenIMG20170325212726
