Home Made Peanut Butter

Amongst a few things that we just go and pick from super markets without giving a second thought is ‘Peanut Butter.’ We are lured by the advertisements promising health, and do not see the other things coming with that flimsy health. There are preservatives which can be avoided easily.

Making peanut butter is really a cake walk, you can make your fresh batch whenever you need, it keeps good in fridge for up to 2 weeks. So, here is the recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw unsalted peanuts
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste if you want your peanut butter a little sweet

Process:

  • Dry roast the peanuts in a pan until you see the color changing, and they start releasing their own oil
  • Let them cool and transfer to a mixer jar, grind them for 2 minutes to make powder
  • Again grind till some of their oil is released, you will see the peanut powder stickingIMG20170328183918
  • Then add vegetable oil and salt, sugar as per your preference and again grind for a minute
  • Take out in a glass jar and store in fridge
