100% Whole Wheat Flour Pav Buns

Making a soft fluffy Pav is a very delightful experience. I know most of us often make Bhaji or Vada in our kitchen but end up buying Pavs from market, I was the same a year ago but when I took the decision of making my own breads always, it has become a habit just like we make Roti with Subji for dinner 😊 Making at home is definitely a healthier choice, as you can avoid market breads full of preservatives and additional flavorings.

This recipe so very simple, that the next time when you make Bhaji you would love to try this.😊

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp instant yeast
  • 2 tsp salt(or to taste)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter + 1 tbsp for brushing
  • 1 cup milk
  • Oil for greasing
  • Water as required for kneading

Process:

  • Take the flour in a large mixing bowl and add yeast, salt and sugar, mix well(if you are using Active Dry yeast, prove it first in warm water with some sugar)IMG20170411110525
  • Mix the butter in warm milk IMG20170411111121
  • Make a well between the flour and add this milk and butter mix to the flour.IMG20170411111132
  • Mix it well and start kneading, add water very little by little so that you don’t end up in adding much water
  • Remember kneading is the most important part of making any bread, knead it patiently for minimum 7-8 minutes to form a smooth doughIMG20170411112638
  • Now keep it in a well-greased deep vessel, grease the dough as well with some oil. Keep it at a warm place till the dough doubles
  • Grease your baking pot
  • Puncture the dough and make equal sized small crackfree balls and line them on the pan
  • Brush with some melted butter and keep covered for second proofing for 20-25 minutes. They will puff upIMG20170411130036
  • Meanwhile preheat your oven at 200 degrees
  • Pop the dough balls in oven for baking. Bake them at 200 degrees for 15-18 minutes or till you see the golden crust on top
  • Take out and cool first, then demold

Enjoy them as it is or slit and toast on griddle with some butter. Trust me, warm buns are heavenly🤗 you will surely fall in love with them😍😍😍
