Eggless Gooey Nutty Brownies with 100% Whole wheat flour and Cane Sugar

A Brownie is something that you can have any time of the day. But at the same time lots of sugar and refined flour that goes into it makes it an unhealthy choice, but if you get to know that you can have the same taste with 100% whole wheat flour and a better sugar option that is cane sugar, would you not like to try it?😊 Well, I know the answer 😉😍 and that’s why this recipe…

These Brownies are “Seriously Fudgy” , “Seriously Gooey” , “Seriously Nutty” and “Seriously Chocolaty”


Believe me when I say “Seriously” it is “Seriously”😉 I know many people who are quite serious about Brownies and I am one of them😍 There is no better feeling in this world then having a real good Brownie. A Brownie for me has to be Gooey inside and crispy on top. I know it’s getting too much but I really love Brownies😍😍😍 so here is my ‘Serious Love’ for you in this recipe 😋


  • 1 & 1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 200 grams dark chocolate(roughly chopped 1& 1/2 cup)
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder(unsweetened dark)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 cup rosted and chopped almonds(or your favorite nuts)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup oil(any flavorless oil, I used sunflower oil)
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence


  • Sift the flour, cocoa powder salt and baking powder together and keep asideIMG20170522125109
  • Chop the chocolate and take 3/4 portion in a bowl and fine chop the remaining 1/4th portion of chocolate and keep that aside. This will add to surprises when you eat😍
  • Now take the bowl with 3/4 portion chocolate and put it on a double boiler that is, a pot of some simmering water. Make sure that the chocolate bowl doesn’t touch the water(chocolate burns very fast so be extra careful). Melt the chocolate and keep it aside to cool a bit
  • Switch on the oven for preheating at 170 degrees, line a pan with baking parchmentIMG20170522131336
  • Now mix milk, oil and vanilla essence till they become oneIMG20170522125526
  • Mix sugar in the flour and Cocoa mixture, add rest of the chopped chocolate and almonds to this, mix well. Reserve a handful of almonds for topping at last
  • Add the milk mixture to the flour mixture and mix
  • Now add the melted chocolate to this and mix well.
  • Pour this mixture in the parchment lined baking pan and top with the reserved almonds then put it in the preheated oven
  • Bake for 25 minutes at 170 degrees, or bake till it barely starts leaving the sides of the pan. I know judging is a bit difficult but the toothpick test can not be carried out for a fudgy Brownie, only thing is that if you insert a toothpick after 25 minutes it should not come out with uncooked batter, it will have crumb but cooked. That is the stage where your Brownie is baked to perfection.IMG20170522134608
  • Take it out and cool completely, then slice. Cooling completely is must for getting neat slices.

    Ma’am, how many ml is 1 cup for d above recipe ?
    Also if i use a round cake tin, which size shud b an ideal one ?

    1. Cane sugar is unrefined version of sugar Harsha, you can find it with the same name, or at some local Kirana shops they call it ‘Shakker’ but there is lot of adulteration in that so buying a packed version is better. I buy from Big Basket.
