Bhindi Peanut Masala

My daughter loves bhindi😊 and there are only few veggies that she accepts on their own and hence I end up making bhindi every week, sometimes even twice a week🤗 This led me to try different bhindi recipes and this is one of them, a little variation from our normal Punjabi style bhindi😉


  • 500 grams Bhindi(washed and chopped)
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 2-3 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp oil


  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and Curry leaves, let them crackleIMG20170619080635
  • Add chopped bhindi and mix well. You can cut the bhindi in any way you like, I prefer slantingly chopped for this recipeIMG20170619080758
  • Let the bhindi cook for a 3-4 minutes and then add dry spices like salt, chilly, turmeric and Coriander powder. Mix well and cover to cook for some 3-4 minutes
  • Meanwhile crush the peanuts coarselyIMG20170619081434
  • Now add peanuts and desiccated coconut and mix well, serve hot 🍜

This is very simple but much flavorful 😊
